The maiden week of prayer for Christian unity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, began on the 17th of January, 2021, and ended on Sunday, January 24th.
Christians were led by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rev. Dr. Samson Jonah, visiting churches and praying in solidarity with fellow Christians belonging to different ecclesial communities and traditions for unity among Christians and peace and security in Nigeria. The venues for the prayer for unity were in this order: 1. National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja 2. Foursquare Gospel Church 3. Cherubim and Seraphim Church 4. National Ecumenical Centre 5. First Baptist Church 6. Catholic Pro-Cathedral 7. ECWA Church 8. National Ecumenical Centre.
Kudos to the chairman of the planning committee, Rev. Fr. Robert Achiaga (also the chairman of the Ecumenism Commission, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja), the FCT CAN EXCO and all those who collaborated and participated in the prayer programme. I was glad to visit and pray in other churches. We look forward to a better involvement by all Christians, especially the youths, in January, 2022. To God be honour, glory and praise!
