The 2015 annual special party organized for children by Archbishop Kaigama on his compound, was as usual attended by over 700 children in Jenta Adamu, Jos, Plateau State. Celebrated on the 28th December 2015, this tradition has been going on uninterrupted for more than a decade since his assumption of office as the metropolitan Archbishop of Jos. What makes the party exciting is always the animated presence and interaction of children from many ethnic and religious groups, eagerly and happily consuming the rice, biscuits and soft drinks amply provided for each child by the Archbishop.   Coordinating the social event, Fr. Alex Dung who is also the communications Director of the Archdiocese, encouraged the children to share riddles and jokes and bible recitation and to demonstrate their dancing skills. Children who performed well received gifts. Apart from the Archbishop’s weekly Sunday encounter with the children on his compound, he encourages this annual gathering to inculcate in them a spirit of love, peace, unity and selfless sharing. In a brief remark he greeted the children in the spirit of Christmas, urging them to be always obedient and well mannered, and wished them a very peaceful and fruitful New Year. He also  encouraged the government to give top priority to the formation of children, in and out of school. Similarly,  he admonished families, schools and religious worship places to inspire in the children the virtues of peaceful coexistence, fraternal dialogue, loving forgiveness and selfless sharing. Little wonder, the children look forward with palpable anxiety to next year’s celebration.
