The Archbishop made a pastoral visit to Holy Cross Parish, Gwarinpa. At the celebration of Holy Mass, 59 candidates received the sacrament of confirmation. He was accompanied by special guests who were also present at the 40th anniversary celebrations of the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Abuja and of the 40th priestly anniversary of the Chief Shepherd. The visitors were as follows:
1. Mr. Remigius Joseph and Mr. Lazarus Vitalis; the first two to be baptized by the young Fr. Ignatius Kaigama, 40 years ago in Jangbunu, Adamawa State.
2. Sir and Lady Julius Banam (KSM); the first couple whose wedding was assisted by the then Fr. Kaigama, nearly 40 years ago in Bare, Adamawa State.
3. Rev. Fr. Mark Nzukwein; the first candidate to be ordained priest by Bishop Ignatius Kaigama, then Bishop of Jalingo in 1995. He also became his first Private Secretary. Fr. Peter Hassan was also his Private Secretary in Jalingo Diocese.
4. Frs. Vincent Diyong and Joshua Daffa; the first priest Secretaries of the newly appointed Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama in the early 2000s, of the Archdiocese of Jos.
