On Monday, June 5, 2023, our Archbishop, His Grace, Most Rev. Ignatius A. Kaigama, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Ph.d, mni, OFR, at the National Headquarters, Abuja. They discussed matters of mutual interest and the Archbishop expressed the continuous support and collaboration of the Church with the security personnel in the discharge of their duties. From there, he offered a thanksgiving Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Chaplaincy, within the NSCDC Headquarters in honour of retiring ACG Ikpeamonwu Chike, fsi, Ph.d, from active service. During his homily, the Archbishop remarked, “your duty is to defend the nation and I am here to pray to God the Almighty Defender to defend you.” He tasked the security personnel to be diligent in their duty and cooperate within their ranks and with other sister security agencies to improve the security situation in the country.
