AT SECAM’S 17TH PLENARY ASSEMBLY
His Eminence, Souraphiel Cardinal Berhaneyesus Demerew, Archbishop of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with Archbishop Kaigama at the 17th plenary Assembly of the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar which took place in Luanda, Angola, from 18th to 25th July, 2016. The theme of the Conference was : “The Family in Africa, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: In the Light of the Gospel”.
Archbishop Kaigama represented the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa (RECOWA) and gave a report about the activities of the Catholic Church in West Africa. The theme of the conference was extensively discussed by the Cardinals, the Bishops and other participants with the very great desire that the family becomes “the sanctuary of life”.
