NEW BISHOP INSTALLED FOR SHENDAM DIOCESE
Following the pronouncement and appointment of Msgr Philip Davou Dung as the Bishop- elect of Shendam Diocese by His Holiness Pope Francis, on November 5, 2016, more than 400 priests, 32 Bishops and thousands of Christ’s faithful gathered at the Centenary ground of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Shendam for the ordination and installation of the new Bishop on 11th of January, 2017.
The Principal Consecrator was the Metropolitan Archbishop of Jos and President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Most Rev. Dr Ignatius Ayau Kaigama.
The Plateau State Governor, Barr. Simon Lalong, former governors and top government functionaries also graced the occasion.
Bishop Dung is the second Bishop of Shendam Diocese after the demise of the pioneer Bishop, Most Rev. James Daman.
