Meeting of the Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Abuja

To God be glory and praise, we had a successful meeting of the Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Abuja in Idah, Kogi State, 27th to 29th June, 2023. The jurisdictions that make up the Abuja Ecclesiastical Province are: Archdiocese of Abuja, and the Dioceses of Lokoja, Idah, Otukpo, Makurdi, Lafia, Katsina Ala and Gboko.

Our host Bishop, Most Rev. Anthony Adaji, MSP, and his Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful received us very warmly and gave us great hospitality. The Attah Igala (paramount leader of Igala land), who is equally the Chairman of the Kogi State Traditional Council, extended a real royal treat to us.

He asked for prayers for Igala land and Kogi State, especially as the preparations are on for the governorship election. This was done at our concluding Mass in the Cathedral of St. Boniface, Idah, where hundreds gathered to worship and celebrate with the Bishops. It was a spiritually, pastorally and socially rewarding outing. We thank God for a fruitful Provincial meeting of the Bishops.
