Voter Registration Exercise
As part of the efforts to increase voter awareness and to encourage eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC), on Monday, June 20, 2022, the Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Ignatius A. Kaigama, chose to visit a busy PVC registration centre in Wuse, Abuja, to transfer his polling unit from Jos, Plateau State, to Abuja.
Speaking in an interview with the Catholic Television and Good Shepherd Newspaper, he described the PVC as a ‘key to social and political freedom’. He expressed that it was not enough for Nigerians to lament bad governance and other national challenges without taking a bold step to register and vote during the forthcoming 2023 general elections. With great optimism that the electoral processes will be transparent, he urges Nigerians to take an active part to vote the right people into public office.
